Putting The BOO In Booze: Where To Drink This Halloween

As the sky darkens and the pumpkins line the shelves, weโ€™re getting ready for spooky season. This year feels a little different as we hit our early 30s โ€“ a horror in itself, some may say, but not for us. Weโ€™re putting aside the saucy nun costumes and devil horns and embracing a slightly more sophisticated spooky soirรฉe. Think subtle gothic features, pumpkin-accented dinner dishes and, importantly, a lot of delicious and interesting wine.

So if you’re looking for something a little different to do in London this Halloween, we’ve got you covered. From spooky wine tastings and tarot readings to candlelit parties, we’re recommending four of the best Halloween events in London for wine lovers who want to put the boo in booze this spooky season.

1. In Vino Veritas: Halloween Wine Tasting and Tarot Readings

This female-owned wine bar isnโ€™t just spooky this month; itโ€™s got a haunted, gothic ambience all year round. Meghna (the owner) has put her heart and soul into this space. The aesthetic is very much holy vibes โ€“ all the furniture is salvaged from old churches, including a real-life confession booth in the middle of the bar. This is perfect if youโ€™ve had a particularly sinful week or just fancy a Catholic-vibes photoshoot.

What we love about In Vino Veritas is that Meghna mostly stocks wine from regions beyond the usual suspects, so you get a mix of countries and indigenous grapes; such as Telti-Kuruk from Ukraine or Tannat from Uruguay.

The wine list is always rotating, and is nearly as thick as the Bible – which we reckon she did on purpose.

On Friday 30 October, In Vino Veritas is hosting a wine tasting AND tarot or palm reading. Anyone who knows us knows we love a little bit of the mystic (Spirits, please tell us when our Real House Wines of London Insta is going to make us rich and famous).

For ยฃ40, you can try four different wines from places steeped in ghosts and folklore and, of course, receive your mystic reading. This is definitely worth checking out.

Where: 271 Well Street, Hackney, London E9 6RG
When: Friday 30 October 2026, 7โ€“10pm
Price: ยฃ40

Tickets: Wine & Spirits Halloween Tasting

2. Renegade Urban Winery: Spooky Snacks & Wine Tasting in Walthamstow

We LOVE Renegade Urban Winery, a cool independent wine bar, winery and events space highly worth a visit regardless of the season. They buy top-quality grapes from the UK and Europe, bring them to the winery and then use them to create innovative wines. Youโ€™ll recognise them by the unique labels, which feature the eyes of different individuals across the UK.

Renegade is having a Halloween-themed wine tasting on Thursday 29 October at Wood Street Bakery, featuring five of their rule-breaking wines alongside some spooky and scrumptious snacks. Expect cured meats and cheeses from Cibo, olives and nuts from La Ribera, plus some spooky treats and something sweet baked in-house to finish things off.

And if you discover a new favourite among the five wines, you’ll be able to stock up on the night with an exclusive discount on Renegade bottles.

Where: Wood Street Bakery, Walthamstow, London E17
When: Thursday 29 October 2026, 7โ€“8.30pm
Price: ยฃ35

Tickets: WSB Lates x Renegade: Halloween Wine Tasting

3. La Camionera: Halloween Parties, Wine and Life Drawing

This one is for our hot spooky lesbians and FLINTA babes.

‘Camioneraโ€™ โ€“ Spanish for female truck driver and slang for butch lesbian โ€“ is a coffee shop by day and a wine bar by night. With a distinctly Spanish feel it has an alfresco courtyard with hand-painted tiles, rough plaster-covered walls and candlelit tables and flowers – cultivating a sensual, feminine and empowering space. Plus the furniture is mainly second-hand and funded through crowdfunding.

They are hosting several Halloween events which we are obsessed with, a couple of our favourites include:

This Saturday (24th October), there is a morning life drawing class followed by a spooky, sexy, fun house party in the evening.

Then, next week, on Saturday 31 October, they are hosting a life drawing by candlelight session. On Sunday, they are celebrating Dรญa de Muertos with a screening of some horror movies.

It’s giving chaos meets sophistication, hot girl spooky season.

Where: 243 Well St, London E9 6RG
When: Saturday 24 October โ€“ Sunday 1 November 2026
Price: Varies by event

Tickets: La Camionera Halloween Events on OutSavvy

4. Vining Street: Weird and Wonderful Wine Tasting in South London

From the team behind Crystal Palace Wine Club is Vining Street. Half wine bar, half bottle shop, they have a rotating weekly wine list and a wall of bottles you can take home. They also have a lovely secret courtyard out the back.

Not a generally spooky spot, but Vining Street does an annual iconic โ€œspookyโ€ tasting. You get six wines that are a little bit out there for your average wine drinker. Think sparkling chilled red, Slovenian โ€œChampagneโ€ and textured orange wines. If you look back at our Instagram review, youโ€™ll see we had their delish Gabernik pรฉt-nat, with a skeleton on the bottle, which actually inspired this whole event.

Of course, what would spooky wine be without spooky food?! We won’t give anything away, but it’s pretty freaky.

If you want a spooky tasting in a civilised setting, this one’s for you! And Hootananny is just up the road if youโ€™re looking for more debauchery afterwardsโ€ฆ

Where: 1Vining Street, SW9 8QA
When: Tuesday 27 October 2026 , 7pm – 9.30pm
Price: ยฃ35

Tickets: Vining Street Spooky Wine Tasting (now waitlist only)
